Home is Where the Heart Is is a heart-warming tale of the highs and lows of communal living. Bear moves into the forest and becomes good friends with his next door neighbour, Rabbit. When a storm destroys Bear's home, Rabbit takes him by the paw and invites him to move in. The reality of a bear and a rabbit sharing a small space becomes apparent and the two soon fall out and split up. Common sense prevails when they realise how lonely they both are living alone, so they move back in and learn to tolerate the other's questionable habits.
This lovely book is a gentle way into talking about sibling issues, when they are getting on each other's nerves. The illustrations are lovely, muted woodland colours with bright splashes of candlelight or sunshine. A perfect bedtime story that will be requested again and again, or a nice addition to a classroom bookcase.
