    Get started in creating your comic with these Templates and Guidelines from The Phoenix comic:

    Comic strips should be created on a single A4 page.

    Entries can be created individually, or in pairs or groups.

    Any media can be used to create your comic strip.


    You can choose a comic strip with four, six or nine panels on the page, using the following templates, or download all templates via the PDF link, below:

  • How to Enter the Create a Comic Competition

    Entering the Create a Comic Competition

    We're so looking forward to seeing your comic strips! Here are further details for how to enter the competition.

    Format:   Entries should be on a single A4 page. You can use the templates provided, or create your own.

    Categories:    The competition is open to those aged 4-16 years with two categories: Primary (4-11 years) and Secondary (11-16 years). Entries can be from individuals, pairs or groups.

    Prizes:    The Primary and Secondary winners' schools will win a year's subscription to The Phoenix comic PLUS, for the comic creator(s), one set of the seven Bunny Vs Monkey books.  Runner-Up prizes are a six month's subscription to The Phoenix comic and a Bunny Vs Monkey book. 

    Closing Date:  Entries for the Create a Comic Strip Competition should be posted to ReadingZone and arrive by Monday 5th December.

    Entry Form:    Each Comic Strip entry will need to have a printed Entry Form attached, or one Entry Form per group, so we can identify who has sent the entries.  Please complete the online entry form, print it out before pressing 'submit', and attach a copy to your Comic Strip entry(s).
