Young Creators Category Award Winner

A story about a young chick
- The Chick's Day Out by Aarna (St Mark's C of E Primary School) - has won the Young Creators Category of the ReadingZone Picture Book Competition, with runners-up How Do You Count by Shreya (St Anthony's RC Primary School) and When I Grow Up I Want to Be by Lily (Orchid Vale Primary School).

The Sheep in Disguise by Ava (Dudley House School) was also commended.

Judge Rachel Bright said of the winning picture book, "This story is so very well done. I can't believe you are only six! I loved everything about it! Good story line and characters...what fun! A well deserved winner."

The Chick's Day Out went on to win the overall prize for the competition so as well as 50 printed copies of The Chick's Day Out, the school will enjoy a visit by a picture book creator.
