A very interesting plot with a lot of twists. Sol was very nice and a great friend because of the amount of times he saved Celia. Finding out what happened in the end with her disorder and mum was very interesting and had my class talking about it all day. A very good book recommended for kids and young teens.

Celia Frost suffers from a dangerous blood disease. It has made her mother over protective and secretive, she has changed schools so many times she can't remember and is continuously moving house. After an incident at school where she is taken to A&E, they move on again to a run-down estate on the outskirts of town. There she meets Sol, the youngest brother in a family of refugees, and they become friends and spend most of their time at the flooded quarry. Until the sleazy detective, Frankie Byrne, arrives on the scene to track down Celia and her mother for a very secretive client. This turns from an intriguing family story about an over protective mother and a daughter with a serious illness into a page-turning thriller. What is the matter with Celia? Why is the client looking for her? Why is here mother so frightened and paranoid? Can Sol and his brothers save Celia and her mother? Definitely one for readers who like a mystery that keeps the pages turning. (343 pages). Age 12+.
