Rose Wilkins

About Author

Rose Wilkins had an idyllic childhood in Wales in a beautiful country house,
complete with rising damp and cows in the orchard. Not only is Rose descended from the Lady of the Lake (it's a long story), she also shares her family tree with Charles Kingsley, author of the children's classic, The Water Babies.

Her debut novel, So Super Starry, was written after a spell of work experience at a publishing house whilst studying for a Classics MA at Oxford university. Convinced that she too could write a novel, she made (and won) a bet with a friend to write the opening pages of a "snogbuster" for teenagers within a week. One completed novel and a six-figure deal later (making her work experience possibly the most lucrative EVER), Rose Wilkins officially became a Macmillan Children's Books author.

Rose lives in West London and is combining writing her third book with her day job as editorial assistant at Orion Publishing. She says that for the second year running, she got to claim Heat magazine as a business expense.
