Alice's mind wanders as she grows tired of watching her sister read. A white rabbit catches her eye. Not just any old rabbit, but a remarkable, talking one! Curiosity overcomes young Alice and without thinking, she follows the rabbit down a rabbit hole. Down, down she falls. On and on. Until, THUMP! With darkness all around, it could be that her adventure ends. But no. The rabbit is still in sight! Alice's adventure through this strange and unusual world continues as she is met with a passage way of locked doors. Could this mark the end to the adventure? No! A golden key is sat upon a table. More challenges arise as the key opens the door to a rather unusually small passage. With nowhere to go and feeling a bit deflated about the strange happenings, Alice returns to the table to discover a bottle with a label reading, drink me! A drink to shrink and a cake to grow later, how will Alice's adventure continue? Will she find and follow the White Rabbit? And will there be a happy ever after? A delightful introduction to the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland. With challenge and resolution throughout, the reader is left engaged and waiting to see what follows. Detailed sketches support the text and are an eye catching way to stay engaged. Children will love predicting the next event whilst thinking about 'what if?' 320 pages / Ages 7+ / Reviewed by Maria Faithorn, teacher
