Synopsis

A powerful YA romance about the forbidden love between a girl and a fallen angel. Perfect for fans of the Twilight series, eagerly awaiting Midnight Sun!

Nora should know better than to think her life can return to normal after falling in love with a fallen angel. And Nora's life isn't normal - her dad was murdered, and the facts about his death just don't add up. Now Nora's own life is in imminent danger. Are she and Patch strong enough for the battle ahead?

Reviews

Maggie

Disappointing sequel to Hush, Hush that continues the story of Nora Grey caught up in the world of fallen angels.

The strong cover and intriguing prologue leads to the expectation of a tense exciting mystery with a delicious touch of gothic romance. Instead the reader is exposed to a poorly plotted love triangle told from the point of view of a naive, unconvincing lead character about whom we care nothing. Patches of purple prose intended to create an atmosphere of drama and anticipation become cliched and predictable.

In Meyer's Twilight series the unrequited passion of the two lead characters creates a delicious undercurrent of sexual tension but in Crescendo, the sexual tension between the characters is more obvious and crude. The common place use of derogatory language e.g. ho, whores etc and the casual violence makes for an uncomfortable read.

Crescendo will no doubt be picked up by followers of Twilight, Fallen, and Evermore However, I'm not sure that many readers will care enough about the main character to want to go on to read the third in the trilogy.
