It's Christmas Eve and, convinced that he is responsible for killing Father Christmas (and causing his parents to argue), Jo-Jo embarks on a daring plan to make amends. With the aid his pillowcases, long-forgotten toys and his mother's red coat, he plans to save Christmas - for his street, at least! About to put his plan into action, he leaps out into the snow and encounters the bearded, rotund figure of... Father Christmas! Then begins a wonderful evening of stars and snow and reindeers and a lovely explanation of how Father Christmas manages his magical present-delivering work. This is a lovely festive tale with predictably wonderful illustrations by Chris Riddell. With the true meaning of Christmas at its heart, this delightful pocket-sized read is sure to find its way into many stockings this Christmas! 96 pages / Ages 6+ / Reviewed by Clare Wilkins, school librarian.
