In this unique and magnificent compendium designed to spark the imagination, Joseph Coelho brings us cherished moments between siblings, worlds where nature blooms and heals, and touching tales of beloved pets ... all in just ten words! Each tale has been paired with one of the finest illustrators working today - and, together, the words and pictures will create a space for creativity as young readers imagine how the story might unravel. They might even be inspired to pen a ten-word tiny tale of their own!

Written by former Waterstones Children's Laureate and winner of the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Writing, Joseph Coelho, and with two creative writing challenges at the back, this is the perfect gift for all those ready to unleash their imaginations.

Combining beautiful illustrations with exciting ten-word stories, Ten-Word Tiny Tales of Love is an absolute joy from cover to cover! Perfect for inspiring creativity and sparking imagination, each picture and the combining tiny tale offers endless possibilities for developing story telling.

Love in many different forms is captured here - that of nature, of siblings, of parents of pets. Some of the tales might be interpreted quite literally whilst others are more ambiguous or enigmatic, really open to interpretation and flights of imagination.

For teachers, this book, like Ten-Word Tiny Tales, is an absolute gift for encouraging children to create their own tiny tales or develop these into longer stories, perhaps using the advice offered at the end of the book. However, this is also an invaluable resource for home as well, as families - or any combination of adults and children, children and children, or even adults - might thoroughly enjoy developing stories together.

There is such variety in style of both illustration and tale that there really is something for everyone here. Jim Field's illustration is wonderfully atmospheric, evocative of fairy tales, whilst Sydney Smith's page captures a gentle moment of sibling affection; Rikin Parekh's is wonderfully vibrant whilst Heather Kilgour's is dreamlike. Like I said, an absolute joy from cover to cover!

Ten-Word Tiny Tales of Love is another amazing book in Joseph Coelho and friends' brilliant series. The collection of tiny tales will inspire pupils young and old to write their own stories around these themes. At the back of the book there is carefully created guidance of 'How to lengthen a Ten Word Tiny Tale', which is hugely helpful and thought-provoking. The section 'Parts of a story' gives five parts of a story to focus on when creating your own; this is very useful to discuss with children when they are focusing on their creative writing.

Beautiful illustrations accompanying each ten-word story, meaning that you will spend hours looking at this wonderful book, noticing different elements each time. This is a must-have book for every classroom book corner and every Primary teacher. Many children will love having this at home to create their own stories at bedtime.
