Synopsis

From the author of the unforgettable bestseller TIME TRAVELLING WITH A HAMSTER comes another surprising, beautiful and funny novel about a child who, by disappearing, will write herself into your heart forever...

Turning invisible at will: it's one way of curing your acne. But far more drastic than 13 year-old Ethel Leatherhead intended when she tried a combination of untested medicines and a sunbed.

It's fun at first, being invisible. And aided by her friend Boydy, she manages to keep her extraordinary ability secret. Or does she...?

When one day the invisibility fails to wear off, Ethel is thrown into a nightmare of lies and deception as she struggles to keep herself safe, to find the remedy that will make her seen again - and solve the mystery of her own birth...

Reviews

Megan - Age 11

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I already want to read it again. It was the perfect book to read in bed, although I did get quite emotional and really could have done with a cuddle. Every person that I've spoken to about the book and recommended it to has just heard a repeat rendition of "It's just so good". I felt that Ross Welford did exceptionally well in writing this book and I am now seeking out more of his work. My favourite characters are Ethel and Elliot. Ethel is funny, cheerful but easy to anger, Elliot is obsessed with Lighthouses, he's funny in his delivery of what he says. Oh, I also love Mr Parker - I fell a bit in love with him. He uses really great language and I can totally get on board with that. This book was splendid!!
