Looking for a fabulous poetry event to share with children on National Poetry Day? Here is our ReadingZone Live event with Michaela Morgan, which you can watch online, followed by ideas for children to write their own poem on the theme of 'Truth'.
Michaela Morgan joined ReadingZone Live at Cheam Common Junior Academy to talk all things poetry - from what is a poet, does poetry need to rhyme, and where her inspiration to write poetry comes from? Michaela shares her poetry - yukky, funny and powerful poems - and explains how each of them came about. In the second link, Michaela shares Roger McGough's poem, Six Impossible Things to do Before Breakfast, and explores how it can be used to inspire children to write their own poems for the National Poetry Day theme of 'Truth'.
