Here is a review of the latest book, Marge and the Pirate Baby, by school librarian Emily Beale: Marge the extraordinary babysitter is back! She can talk to animals, she's an explorer and an adventurer, but her most important job is baby sitter for Jake and Jemima. Marge has a smile as big as a watermelon and the most wonderful rainbow coloured hair! She has the ability to makes everyone around her feel wonderful. In author and actor Isla Fisher's second Marge adventure book we find our wonderful babysitter charged with looking after Jake, Jemima and baby cousin Zara. Baby Zara is quite a handful but Marge wins over the pirate baby, even though she is faster than a squirrel sneaking a nut! Marge rallies her young buccaneers to give her a hand and Jake and Jemima soon realise that pirate babies can be a lot of fun. Marge is always given a list of instructions from mum, pinned to the fridge, but she finds it's much more fun to create her own pirate code. Number 1 - Zara needs a bottle of milk, not rum. Number 2 - Pirate babies need games, treasure and cuddles. Number 3 - No rude words, unless your parrot poops on you! The shipmates have the most wonderful day with Marge in charge, and when mum and Auntie Sally arrive home early to find a spotless house, it seems the pirate code has done the trick! Two further Marge adventures are told in the book, where the children experience a summer trip to the outdoor swimming pool and a rather wacky wedding day. Jake and Jemima learn that things will never go quite as expected when Marge is around, but life is just a little bit more exciting thanks to the wild imagination of their number one babysitter! Marge and the Pirate Baby is another super, family friendly story, for independent readers by the very talented author Isla Fisher.
