The Moonlight Zoo is a heart-warming tale of Eva who has lost her kitten Luna. However, all is not lost in The Moonlight Zoo. When Eva goes to sleep at night, she finds the most peculiar thing; a zoo under the covers and a wolf waiting for her! The wolf helps her uncover the secrets of the zoo and to search for her beloved cat, Luna. Eva finds all sorts of lost animals in the zoo and is desperate to find Luna before the sun goes up. If she isn't quick enough then the zoo will be gone and the search for Luna will start all over again. I love how the book has been illustrated and set up, with the cut-out pages and dreamy colour palette of purples and blues, making the dream-like zoo feel real. It also leaves a guessing game as to the next page for the reader and sparks imagination. This would be a sweet and helpful way in to help children who may have lost a pet in a warming and sensitive way. 22 pages / Ages 5+ / Reviewed by Lauren Maidman, teacher
