Kate le Vann was born and brought up in Doncaster. After completing a law degree at Manchester University, she moved to London, where she got a job with The Modern Review, then wrote freelance while working in the Daily Telegraph clippings library.
Kate has written for newspapers and magazines including CosmoGIRL!, Vogue, Company and The Big Issue, and is the author of two novels for adults, Trailers and Bad Timing, published by Viking Press.
She has written a number of titles for Piccadilly Press and has been short-listed twice for the Lancashire Book Award. Rain was longlisted for the Manchester Book Award 2009.
Kate now lives in York with her husband and young daughter.
