Dr Miriam Stoppard is Britain's bestselling childcare author. As a popular medical writer and broadcaster, and in her daily column for The Mirror, she has helped millions of people deal with life's emotional problems and health
difficulties. Well known for her practical, sympathetic approach to childcare, her aim is to give readers 'the confidence to follow their own instincts'.

Miriam Stoppard has been at the forefront of the revolution in health information since she began her writing and broadcasting career in the early 1970s. She is well known to millions all over the world as a leading authority on parenting, baby and child care, women's health, and
many other health issues such as diet and nutrition. In 2000 she set up Miriam Stoppard LifeTime, of which she is Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, to further her work on healthcare information.

Her blend of medical training (she studied medicine at the
universities of London and Durham), business connections (she has been the director of a number of companies ranging from pharmaceuticals to interior design), and experience as a mother and grandmother have made her uniquely qualified as a writer on childcare.

Miriam Stoppard's fresh approach and ideas mean she is in constant demand for regular radio and television appearances. In 1998 she was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in recognition of her work promoting healthcare information.

She lives in London and is a parent and grandparent.
