About Author

Narinder was born in Wolverhampton and now lives in Cambridgeshire. After obtaining an English degree from Birmingham University, she did a PGCE course and began teaching in the early 1980s. She worked as a primary school teacher for ten years, but for the last nine years she has been a full-time writer.

In those nine years, Narinder has written almost two hundred short stories and articles published in childrens and teenage magazines such as Jackie, Catch and Playdays.

For the last couple of years, apart from writing short stories and articles, Narinder has focused on writing childrens novels.

Her novel Angel Face (Collins) is soon to be dramatised for childrens TV.

Annies Game was published by Corgi Yearling in 1999 to great reviews and since then she has written novels in the Young Corgi imprint.

In 2002, Narinder shot to fame when she wrote the novelisation for the big-screen smash hit Bend It Like Beckham.

Narinder still contributes stories to childrens magazines and writes a regular column for Writers News magazine.

Narinder often visits schools and libraries to talk to children about her books and creative writing in general. She also runs workshops, talks and seminars for both adults and children.

Her novel for the Corgi Yearling imprint, Bindi Babes published in July 2003 took the teenage girl market by storm

Three feisty, fun-loving Anglo-Asian sisters rule the roost over their dad since their mum died. Theyve got a reputation at school for being the coolest, most sorted babes in town and what they certainly DONT need is an interfering Auntie-ji from India inviting herself over to England and cramping their style, which is exactly what their dad organises. The girls then go about trying to devise a cunning plot to make Auntie-ji leave.

Bollywood Babes, Bhangra Babes, Sunitas Secret and Superstar Babes followed.

In 2007 Danis Diary was published, a wonderful story of modern day friendships mixed with a tale of life in Britain as a new immigrant.

2009 will see the publication of the much anticipated Bang Bang Youre Dead. This is a fast-paced and gripping thriller with an intriguing twist in its tail!
