Synopsis

An intoxicating brew of vampires, secrets and romance . . . don't miss the number one bestselling A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal, author of TikTok sensation We Hunt the Flame. Perfect for fans of Peaky Blinders and Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows.

On the streets of White Roaring, Arthie Casimir is a criminal mastermind and collector of secrets. Her prestigious tearoom transforms into an illegal bloodhouse by dark, catering to the vampires feared by society. But when her establishment is threatened, Arthie is forced to strike an unlikely deal with an alluring adversary to save it - and she can't do the job alone.

Calling on some of the city's most skilled outcasts, Arthie hatches a plan to infiltrate the dark and glittering vampire society known as the Athereum. But not everyone in her ragtag crew is on her side, and as the truth behind the heist unfolds, Arthie finds herself in the midst of a conspiracy that will threaten the world as she knows it.

Dark, action-packed, and swoonworthy, this is Hafsah Faizal better than ever.

'Slinky and witty and clever' - Holly Black, bestselling author of The Folk of the Air series.  'A riveting page-turner, A Tempest of Tea is brewed to perfection' - Rebecca Ross, author of Divine Rivals.  'If you like vampires, romance, and kick-ass characters with magic weapons, look no further and you'll be delighted! - Ali Hazelwood, author of The Love Hypothesis.

Arthie Casimir runs a prestigious tearoom (Spindrift) during the day, however, at night it turns into a bloodhouse where vampires are free to feed from those who consent.  When the Ram, the masked monarch who rules Ettenia , threatens to take Spindrift from her and destroy what she has created, what else can Arthie do but fight back?

Along with her team of loyal outcasts, she plans a heist to steal important documents that can stop the Ram in his tracks. However, there is one small problem they first have to overcome - how to get into the Athereum, a sinister vampire underworld where, if you are not invited, you are killed by a stake in the heart.

A Tempest of Tea is a dark, action-packed vampire thriller with plenty of secrets to unravel and lots of twists and turns that will keep many YA readers (ages 13+) riveted to its pages. The story is told through three points of view, which keeps it interesting as the plot develops. There are a few major twists that I really didn't see coming and the author has set up the ending perfectly for the next book to follow, which I hope won't be too long in the future as I want to see how Arthie and her friends move forward and develop.
