Alex Neptune, Monster Avenger: Book 3

Alex Neptune, Monster Avenger by David Owen is the third book in the series, and I think this is the best so far!  The brilliant balance of humour and adventure makes for a memorable pacy story that left me chuckling again from start to finish.

Once again, the story follows the journey of Alex Neptune and his friends. In this instalment, he uncovers a dark force menacing the sea creatures and the coastal town of Haven Bay. With his unique ability to communicate with sea life, Alex discovers that the sea's fury and the aggressive behaviours of its creatures are being manipulated by a sinister power.

Alongside his friends, Alex embarks on a perilous journey to confront this dark power with the guidance of his late father's mysterious journal. They face challenges such as storms, electric eels, and angry crabs, showcasing their bravery and teamwork. Throughout the adventure, he learns valuable lessons about friendship, responsibility, and the importance of protecting the environment.

This story combines elements of magic, myth, and environment, making it not only an exciting read but also a tale that resonates with the importance of caring for our planet. I highly recommend Alex Neptune, Monster Avenger to other primary school teachers looking for an exciting and educational series. This book not only offers a thrilling adventure filled with mythical creatures and a heroic quest, but it also introduces themes of friendship, environmental awareness, and the importance of teamwork. Its fast-paced narrative and humorous moments make it an ideal choice to captivate young readers' imaginations while imparting valuable lessons.

As with the other Alex Neptune books, I would highly recommend these books for children age 8+ (Year 4+). This series is thoroughly enjoyed by an increasing audience in our school. I can't wait for the next Alex Neptune adventure. Thank you, David!
