An ABC of Families is a truly beautiful, bright and informative book that I know will be sharing with my year two class over and over again. The book runs through the ABC's - each letter describing a vital element of a family, for example: A - is for Adoption; L is for Lineage; and my favourite - U - is for Unconditional Love.
There are some glorious illustrations in the book detailing the dynamics of a family and the people that belong to them. There is also a strong message of inclusivity throughout the pages and the wording and pictures have been very carefully chosen.
Although I would share this with my year two class, I believe every school should have a copy. It's perfect for illustrating to our children that all families are different and no two are alike. The book could prompt some very good PSHE discussions, depending on age range.
