Synopsis

The Mistrys are off on holiday, in the fifth hilarious mystery in the award-winning Anisha, Accidental Detective series! Pack your bags - we're off to a holiday camp! Milo can't wait to see the wildlife, Manny's learning survival skills, and even Granny's going to have a go at archery. Honestly, I just want to read my book, but there's NEVER any time to relax for Anisha, Accidental Detective. The holiday park's mascot, Delilah the duck, has been DESTROYED, and my new friend Cleo is everyone's number one suspect. But I'm sure she's innocent, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to prove it. Let's hope we can find the real culprit, and QUACK the case!!

Reviews

Sue

In Anisha Accidental Detective: Holiday Adventure, the family are on a break and whilst Anisha is not the adventurous type and plans to head for the reading nook, the rest of the family throw themselves into the activities on offer. However, when a statue of the holiday park's mascot, Delilah the Duck, is vandalised and her new friend, Cleo, is everyone's number one suspect, Anisha is determined to do whatever she can to identify the real culprits.

The 'Anisha' stories are very popular in the library and the children will be equally delighted by this fifth adventure. Anisha is such an appealing character; kind and loyal to her friends, she is determined to find out who was responsible for the damage to the statue of Delilah and investigates with great determination- and the help of family and friends, Milo, Manny and Mindy. Working together makes anything possible!

Holiday Adventure is full of humour, particularly the antics of Anisha's exuberant Aunty Bindi and brilliant Granny Jas. However, the endless pranking of fellow holiday-maker, Dillon, highlights the difference between fun enjoyed by everyone and silly, annoying behaviour.

Like the other books, this one has footnotes which explain various points within the story and is lavishly illustrated by Emma McCann's humorous and energetic pictures, making them instantly appealing to readers. A great series- I look forward to the next one.
