It's time to discover the great outdoors with this first countryside book for the littlest of adventurers. Big Outdoors for Little Explorers: Countryside is another informative, interactive non-fiction book made as part of the National Trust's 'Big Outdoors for Little Explorers' series.
Push, pull, slide and turn your way through the busy countryside backdrops to discover the wildlife that awaits. Each tab moves in a different direction - a fantastic way of stimulating our babies' minds and challenging their fine motor skills. We meet adorable sleeping harvest mice, a striking kestrel, peeping hares and many more animal friends. The illustrations of the wild flowers in the fore, mid and background of each page are so beautifully eye-catching too.
As with the whole series, there is lots to appreciate, observe, learn and talk about. This series is a brilliant way of giving children experiences of places they might not have been to before. The depth of detail in the illustrations really does allow you to step into the book and feel like you are really there. It stimulates the senses and allows you to imagine what it might sound and feel like in these places of nature.
This non-fiction series is a great investment for any early years setting, too. Let's get children talking about the Big Outdoors!
