Birdie flies along and spots many colourful creatures in this adventure. In Birdie Loves Colours, sweet illustrations introduce children to a range of animals whilst focusing on the colour of each one. Indents in the pages allow little readers to follow Birdie’s trail whilst the rhyming text encourages both colour recognition and naming the different creatures.

The background colour of each page is that of the creature in question, but different shades are using on each page, allowing those sharing the book with little ones to discuss this.

Some pages include flaps to lift which might allow readers to guess which creature of that colour might be hiding beneath! A spread at the end shows all the creatures in the book on a patch of their colour and the name of the colour, allowing children to play 'can you spot the . . . one?' or name the creatures with whoever they are sharing the book with.
