Claire Justice Ninja (Ninja of Justice): The Phoenix Presents

Claire Justice Ninja is on a mission! As alter-ego Justice Ninja, Clair plans to counter immorality wherever she sees it, in her own inimitable style. Often the targets are righteous - amongst others, we see Claire dispensing suitable come-uppances to corrupt politicians, bullies, and game cheaters. But our Claire is not above serving justice for smaller 'crimes' too, such as picking the toppings off pizza. I have to say I had a lot of sympathy with her crusade against overdue library books! Apprentice/side-kick Nigel is also always on hand to both support Claire and subtly take her down a peg or two, even if he does often end up with worst jobs.

Without any tokenism present or commentary needed, it is fantastic to see a young black girl taking the lead in such funny, mould-breaking and adventurous stories. Each comic strip only takes a few pages and can be read in under five minutes. Especially perfect for children who struggle to sit still or concentrate for longer periods, the vibrant movement-filled panels will appeal to any child who rails against the injustices of the world, big and small.

A perfect introduction to graphic novels for 7+ readers.
