What started as a fun day immersed in snowball fights and frolics (whilst staying with their grandparents), turns into a rip-roaring adventure for cousins Aiden, Chloe, Ava and Josh. A near miss with a car sliding off the road and down the hill towards them could have spelled disaster but instead it leads to an entertaining few days helping with a local fundraising play, whilst simultaneously trying to solve a mystery involving a locket and a castle full of unusual suspects.

In Cliff Toppers: The Frost Castle Adventure, Fleur Hitchcock manages to bring the total joy, abandonment and love of life originally created by books such as The Famous Five into the modern day. Vibrant characters, intricate plots, wholesome fun; what more could we want in current times but pure escapism.

Recommended for ages 7+ with links to friendship, family, problem solving and resolution. Children will simply love looking at the clues and red herrings that are threaded through the stories.
