Synopsis
Leap into this new adventure-packed chapter book series from Super Happy Magic Forest creator, Matty Long!
Croaky Hopper isn't like other little frogs. His head is filled with thoughts of wild adventures. He dreams of hopping across crocodile-infested waters, or being chased by a giant boulder, just like the famous TV explorer Tennessee Toad.
But where can an energetic amphibian like Croaky find real-life adventure? When his Aunt Lilly signs him up for the Woggle Scouts, he expects to spend his time crafting with pinecones and selling cookies, but he soon discovers there's much more in store, as scout leader, Winston the Puffin, takes the scouts on a dangerous expedition to search for a sasquatch.

Croaky: Search for the Sasquatch is another amazing book by the talented author Matty Long. Croaky has many qualities that children will be able to identify with. Croaky finds it difficult to make friends so his Aunt Lilly suggests that he joins the Woggle Scouts. Hoping for adventure, you can only imagine Croaky's disappointment when he is met with craft supplies - and his excitement when he finds a cupboard labelled 'Ultimate danger'. Opening it, he finds himself in an adventurer's paradise and armed with a map for a Woggle Scouting outing to the Crystal Creek National Park.
Croaky: Search for the Sasquatch is a wonderfully engaging story packed with humour and excitement. The colourful illustrations add to the experience with beautiful facial expressions which light up the characters' faces and provide additional details about the settings.
It would make a wonderful shared class story, focus book for guided reading or individual reading book for pupils making the transition from picture books to chapter books. Young chapter book readers will need to find a wonderful reading corner to curl up in as they will not want to put this book down. The balance of text and illustration ensures that the young reader will not be overwhelmed and the use of language is well pitched to provide an achievable level of challenge. I look forward to sharing this adventure with many young readers.
