Reviews
Amanda
Dinos Love Numbers is a fantastic book for dinosaur lovers young and old. The bright, colourful illustrations will delight the youngest book lover while the facts will fascinate the older reader. This is clearly a book to foster the love of sharing a book.
A young dinosaur enthusiast will need to work with an adult to discover the facts and the enjoyment will come from the many discussions that this will lead on to. In school I can see that this will lead on to measuring dinosaur lengths with chalk in the playground, introducing comparison with seeing where you fit on the height chart; finding object which are shaped like dinosaur teeth or spines.
Giggles will come from the discussion on the topic of poo which will delight the intended audience! The carefully placed questions on each page allow discussions to start and encourage the use of the information that has been learnt on each page. This will lead to new knowledge, use of mathematical language and comprehension skill.
Our EYFS phase will enjoy looking at different sections of this book as they tackle the question of 'Why won't we see a dinosaur in the playground?' next term and our older dinosaur experts will love nothing more than learning additional facts to use when testing each other. Adam and Mike must have had a lot of fun researching for this book and have discovered a winning combination.
