His simple life is shattered, and he's thrust into a perilous new world of destiny, magic and power. To navigate this dark terrain, and survive his cruel king's evil ways, he must take up the mantle of the legendary Dragon Riders.

Will he succeed? The fate of the Empire rests in his hands. . .

Reviews

Theo - Age 14

Eragon is a book which world-builds a rich and impactful plain to tell its story upon. Paolini was young when he wrote this first instalment in the four part series, and although a few beginner errors are apparent, his talent and impressive storytelling quickly make up for his small mistakes. The book draws you in and creates emotional connections with the characters and makes realistic and intriguing magic systems. Definitely worth a read.
