Good Knight, Bad Knight and the Flying Machine follows three characters; Warrick, Godwin and Berk who live in the medieval times. It begins with them stirring a great, big barrel of poo which is bound to capture children's attention! When they start to use magic, their adventures get even more bizarre and interesting. With catapults, dragons and lots of chickens, there is plenty of fun for children to explore.

With 21 relatively short chapters, this story is a great length to start to challenge young readers with their stamina. It includes a child-friendly glossary at the back to explain medieval words which they may not understand.

It includes a good level of vocabulary to challenge young readers without being too overwhelming
