Stephanie has captured dog body language in a simple yet effective way for young children. I Can Be A Dog Detective! is vibrant, fun and encourages engagement from children. Her activity packs are great for older children and really get kids thinking about the bigger picture. Keeping both the dog and children safe in the family home, but also outside. It has even taught me as a parent basic communication skills. Love it.

I can be a Dog Detective is a picture book for children to teach them about dog behaviours and learn about dogs. The story is about a boy called Jack who meets lots of different dogs to learn about their different behaviours. He meets a range of different dogs - breeds and size; some that may not have the best reputation - and he learns how every dog is different.

This story can help teach children how to recognise different stances and expressions that dogs show and how to deal with them properly. This book is perfect for children or families getting a dog for the first time or just to teach children generally about dog behaviours and how to act around them.

I really enjoyed how the book was written and the interactive elements for children to learn and engage with it. The book also comes with an activity pack and magnifying glass to help bring the story to life and get children engaged and helping them learn along the way.
