Midnight Sun is the companion book to Stephanie Meyer's Twilight. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward's past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he justify following his heart if it means leading Bella into danger? ...

As Midnight Sun mirrors the first book in the Twilight series, don't expect a different plot, but what you do get, in my opinion, is detail and development and far more depth to the characters that we have all grown to love through the series of these books.

What you may also get as you delve into the pages is a different perspective of Edward, as some of his actions come across a little sinister and creepy. However, I hope that you will love being in his head as much as I did, learning how he struggles with his thoughts and feelings about Bella, his family, the Cullens and of course the other 'humans' in his life.

Midnight Sun has 768 pages, much longer than the original book, which is suitable for the 13+ reader. However, if you are a fan of this series the size of the book will not be a problem as you will be familiar with the plot making it an easier read. Get a copy if you are a fan, or just if you enjoy a vampire story as you will not be disappointed. It's sure to be a popular title of 2020.
