Milo is a magician, but not a very good magician. Known as Milo the Magnificent, he is really not magnificent at all and keeps messing up his tricks. Just about to be fired, Milo meets a bear in the woods and the bear teaches him a new trick. But what will happen when the bear gets tired?
There is something about Milo's Hat Trick that is both funny and appealing. The illustrations are wonderful, and Milo is such a great character. I really laughed at this story - there is something so utterly ridiculous about a bear in a hat, but it also makes perfect sense. The style of these illustrations is very eye catching and a little different, a bit like a cartoon.
Children will enjoy the almost slapstick nature of the story. The ending is unexpected and the whole book so engaging, it seems destined to be a classic.
