From Kate Greenaway shortlisted illustrator Birgitta Sif and acclaimed new author, Alicia Potter, comes a tale with many tails, perfect for cat lovers everywhere! This book is full of scaredy cats. Cats terrified of mice, cats frightened of birds; cats who can't pounce, cats who won't purr. Miss Hazeltine takes them all into her Home for Shy and Fearful Cats and she teaches them everything she knows: \"Bird Basics\", \"How Not to Fear the Broom\" and how to \"Hold your tails high! Arch your backs! Think good thoughts!\" But under the bed hides nervous little Crumb... Will Miss Hazeltine be able to help the most shy and fearful kitty of them all? Stunningly illustrated, this is a story about conquering your fears, being brave and finding your moment to shine.

This is a loveable book that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading!

Miss Hazeltine opens a home for timid cats in the middle of a forest; people from all over town bring their cats who 'won't purr', or are 'hopeless' and she teaches them lessons on how to become...well..more catlike! Until one day Miss Hazeltine has an accident and the cats have to bravely put a plan into action!

The story is charmingly illustrated; the pictures are detailed and convey the words well. The cats look like loveable, if a little shabby, creatures and Miss Hazeltine is a kooky character who sees the good in them all.

The story is easy to read and follow, with a good amount of text on each page. It would be a great tool for discussing bravery and shyness with children, without putting too much pressure onto how human's deal with those feelings.
