Much Too Busy is about the chance meeting of Pigeon and Mouse. Pigeon is busy, very, very busy indeed. He is rushing here and there and never has time to stop and notice people or places. We meet him being SO busy that he finds himself lost and very bothered. He meets Mouse who instantly helps Pigeon on his journey to find his way home. Mouse shows Pigeon interesting things in the woods but Pigeon is too busy to even notice. Eventually Pigeon and Mouse are both lost... and with some help from each other they become friends and find their way home.

This is a wonderful book about friendship and never being too busy to admire and observe the world and its beauty. The relationship between Pigeon and Mouse shows that helping someone can open up a new way to see the world and to build friendships. The beautiful illustrations by John Bond and the text tell the story so well and are delightful with lots of hidden gems to discover.

Year 2 (ages 6+) loved Much Too Busy and wanted to immediately explore the words and illustrations. They thought Mouse was a positive character who took time to help Pigeon and change the way he was living his life. Definitely 5 stars!! We loved it!

How many times as adult have we said, 'Sorry, I'm much too busy.' I know I have and am sure you have, too. Much Too Busy is a reminder to look up from the everyday life we lead. We need to look at the clouds that look like dinosaurs, laugh at the rock that looks like an elephant or smile as a new flower opens.

A great story to help children understand that we don't have to be 'doing' all the time; sometimes we can just sit and be.
