Never, Ever, Ever Ask a Pirate to a Party

Never Ever Ever ask a Pirate to a Party is a fun, colourful book about ever-increasingly silly guests turning up for a little girl's party. The guests, including a pirate, a dragon, a unicorn and aliens, knock at the door and cause mischief and chaos, disrupting the perfect party until eventually the little girl sends them home! However, with another knock at the door, the guests come back and promise to be on best behaviour to give the little girl the best party with presents and cake!

My daughter is loving this book and selects it every night as one of her bedtime books. The illustrations are great and my daughter always seems to find something different to point out every time we read it. At the end of the book another surprise guest turns up, which she finds very funny and always makes up some dialogue between the new guest and the little girl. Would recommend!

The class of Year 1 children LOVED this book! ( and so did I!). They laughed from start to finish, and wanted it read again when I finished the story. Never, Ever, Ever Ask a Pirate to a Party is full of colourful illustrations with lots of extra things to spot and discuss on every page - it took the children a while to spot the dragon poo!

The children could relate the story to their own experiences of birthday parties and had fun thinking who else the little girl could invite. This book also contains such a simple message about sharing and friendship, that I know it is one that will be read out loud many times. I definitely recommend!
