In New Arrivals at Willow Farm, Helen Peters has put together two amazing stories, Snowy the Sheepdog and Cowslip the Calf. These stories are sure to become firm favourites for young animal lovers who are progressing to chapter books.

The text is clear and well spaced with carefully chosen vocabulary. The black and white illustrations enable additional details to be added and to become more familiar whilst remaining visually calm. The plot lines of the sheep dog who is struggling to do his job and the need for co-operation, and Cowslip who is lonely and needs a friend, are both ones that children will be able to identify with.

This will be a wonderful addition to a Year 2-4 bookshelf (ages 7+) and as an individual reading book for pupils.
