When Noah goes Christmas shopping with his mum, he takes his toy elephant Oliver with him and enjoys playing 'hide and seek' - but disaster strikes when Oliver goes missing in the very large department store... This picture book has such lovely illustrations. The story is full of charming rhymes and I love reading those with young readers who try to predict the next word. Perfect for Christmas story telling! The illustrations tell the story of how the little boy keeps himself entertained with Oliver elephant, whilst mum shops, which is great for developing emotional literacy - how do you think he is feeling now? Why is he looking sad? Oh dear what's happened? This could be used to inspire a writing focus on 'lost' or 'found' posters. Where could the toy be lost? What could the family do to get help finding it? What information would be needed to put on the poster? An added bonus is the 'free' stories aloud - the smartphone audio QR code inside the cover. Brilliant idea. Picture book / Ages 4+ / Reviewed by Lindy Voisey, teacher.
