Synopsis
A teen girl's attempt to make amends with her former friendship group takes a sinister turn during a weekend getaway at an ancestral Irish estate in this atmospheric, literary horror from the author of Those We Drown.
At the illustrious Greyscott's Academy, reputation is everything... For Meg the rules are simple: keep your head down, know your place, and stay invisible until graduation. That is, until the glamorous and intimidating Wren twins - Lottie and Sebastien - decide to take Meg under their gilded wings. But not all that glitters is gold . . .
Following an incident at the Midsummer Ball, Meg finds herself suspended from school and shunned by Lottie, Sebastien and all their friends. Desperate to make amends, she accepts an unexpected invitation to an exclusive party at Wren Hall. But when one of the party-goers disappears and a violent storm traps the group inside the house, she realizes there's more to the Wren twins than meets the eye . . .
"No one does horror quite like Amy Goldsmith! Our Wicked Histories is an expertly crafted novel sure to haunt you long after the very last page" - Skyla Arndt, author of Together We Rot. "Our Wicked Histories lured me into its watery depths and left me gasping for air" - Cynthia Murphy, author of Win Lose Kill Die

Our Wicked Histories is a delightfully sinister read that truly appealed to my love of horror and my interest in crime; this novel also allowed me to take a peak of a classic Irish folktale.
When Meg gets a scholarship that could offer her more than she ever thought possible, she is more than appreciative of the opportunity to fit in with an unlikely crowd. With Lottie and her band of friends fixated on either social class or friendship, the group soon adjusts to Meg's addition. That is, until a terrifying incident wrapped in confusion occurs, with lies at every corner, and what was a public apology turning into a tragic goodbye. A cruel and mocking legend that is no longer just a myth reveals all.
This story truly is the definition of 'be careful who you trust' and makes you look closer at what's in the hearts of those you love. A beautiful read that keeps you in the edge of your seat. I would recommend Our Wicked Histories to anyone who enjoys a twisted horror.

Our Wicked Histories is a gothic murder-mystery novel. It had a slow start for me but once I got through the first chapter or two, I was hooked! The way in which the author writes the story is brilliant. The use of flashbacks and the twists and turns keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The story is set in England during a retreat to The Wren's ancestral home in Ireland. It follows a group of 'well to do' friends and the scholarship student who wants to be part of their group from Greyscott's. Meg travels to Ireland after a mysterious invitation from her best friend Lottie Wren invites her to a halloween party at Wren Hall. Meg hopes this will be an ideal time to make amends for the incident that happened at the Greyscott's ball. The locals believe that the lake at Wren Hall is haunted but Meg isn't one for believing rumours and brushes them aside. Until things begin to take a dark turn that is....
Our Wicked Histories is a story that will keep you guessing until the very end. Who did it? What happened? Who will be next?
