It is wonderful to see Pandora in Puzzlevale making the leap from The Phoenix Magazine to book format. This book is engaging from start to finish, immersing readers into the story with puzzles and clues. It is definitely not one that cannot be finished quickly as the puzzles have a good level of challenge.

This book challenges the reader to help young heroine, Pandora, uncover the mysteries of Puzzlevale through a series of challenges (the answers to the challenges are helpfully at the back if needed!) I read this with my quick-minded seven year old and he loved the puzzles combined with the high quality graphic novel layout and easy to access text that David Fickling Books are so well known for.

I would say that this book is suitable from ages seven up, if they are both an able reader and have a love of puzzles and problems. It would also be challenging enough for older readers aged nine to 12 years.
