On an initial flick through, Paper World, Human Body by Ruth Symons and illustrated by Gail Armstrong, looked like a simple book. How wrong we were! Each page has a plethora of flaps to lift and read, making every page an explosion of exploration (according to Y aged 9). Y is right, it may look like the sort of book you could read in five minutes, in fact we spent 20 minutes looking at it and there was still more to discover. Superb fun and learning going on here. We just wish there was a type of template so that we could recreate some of the fabulously layered pages in our own exercise books.

Class 11 were transfixed by this book and it has quickly become a firm favourite with them. They have even gotten over their initial shock of seeing a page on puberty! A super book for those in upper KS2, in particular, addressing the human body aspects of our science national curriculum. Strongly recommended.
