Poo! Is that you? tells the humorous journey of Lenny the Lemur who is holidaying in South America. As the wind picks up he sniffs a horrid, stinky smell and goes off to see where it's coming from. As Lenny follows the stink, he visits different species; millipede, stinkbird, anteater, skunk, stink bug, sloth, to see if the whiff is from them. Cleverly, as you discover if it's their whiff you also learn different facts related to each animal. As Lenny fails to find where the whiff is coming from, his new friends join together to help him solve the mystery. Quickly, they discover that the stink following Lenny all day is his own! And what is the purpose of his stink?.. To make everyone leave him alone! Lenny returns to his tree for some peace and quiet when he wonders what the new, dirty, sweaty smell he can whiff is. ...YOU?!

Young children's love of all things stinky and funny will have them laughing and engaging quickly with this text. Large, colourful illustrations appear on every page and assist with the understanding of the story, whilst also adding the opportunity to discuss each animal's appearance. At the end of the story, there is a Super Stinky Facts section with additional written information and a photograph of each animal mentioned in the story.

This story not only captures children's imagination and curiosity about wild animals, but also supports learning. Particularly suited to EYFS and KS1, this would be a great introduction in: Science; animals and habitats, senses. English; non-fiction, description, rhyme, sentence types, text presentation. Geography; locations, continents. PHSE; hygiene, cooperation, social skills.

This stinkingly funny tale is well worth a read and will add lots of fun to a reading session!
