It's bin day at Misha's house and there always seems to be plenty of things which need to be thrown away. In this highly illustrated, colourful book, readers discover what happens to all the thrown-away things people put into their bins - and the things which have to be disposed of differently. Whilst showing how many things are recycled and how lots of clever people have discovered ways to make the most of things which are thrown away, Recycling Day encourages readers to think about ways of making it a 'not-for-the-bin-day', offering practical suggestions for how to achieve this.
The bright, busy illustrations and concise text make this an appealing and accessible book for younger readers, helping them to understand how the waste their family - like Misha's - produces is dealt with and challenging them to think more carefully about what they are throwing away and the impact it has.
The book would also be perfect for sharing with a class to encourage awareness about the importance of recycling and reusing rather than just throwing away - something which schools used to be excellent at! Printed using vegetable inks and sustainable paper, Recycling Day offers plenty to think about!
