Sharky McShark and the Shiny Shell Squabble has so much to offer to the reader. A fun book set on the ocean floor with characters that children can identify with and show empathy for.
Sharky McShark and Teensy Wee Crab are shown swimming together and being best friends. They love to play together, eat together and play treasure hunts together until...a shell opens and we meet Shrimpy. Shrimpy joins the ocean gang but brings huge feelings of jealousy to Sharky, who finds it difficult to share his friend Teeny.
I won't spoil the ending, but Sharky McShark and the Shiny Shell Squabble is a wonderful book to explore friendship, understanding feelings and the importance of helping others, and to encourage young children to talk about their friendships. It has great illustrations showing emotions and feelings.
Sharky McShark and the Shiny Shell Squabble was enjoyed by a class of 6-7-year-olds who loved the book!
