Synopsis
It's two years after the events of Girl, Missing and life is not getting any easier for sixteen-year-old Lauren, as exam pressure and a recent family tragedy take their toll. Lauren's birth mother takes Lauren and her two sisters on holiday in the hope that some time together will help, but a few days into the holiday one of the sisters disappears, under circumstances very similar to those in which Lauren was taken years before. Can Lauren save her sister, and stop the nightmare happening all over again?

Sister, Missing picks up the story two years after the events of Girl, Missing and once again the reader is catapulted into a breathless thriller. In many respects the action is a reprise of the first book as a kidnap and questions of parentage are again the centre of the action; in this case it is the kidnap of Madison, Lauren's youngest sister. Hence the title - or so one might think - or is it? There is another sister - Shelby - and there is little love lost between the two older girls. McKenzie draws a convincing picture of teen sibling rivalry which acts as a plot driver throughout. Nor will fans be disappointed; the plot moves at a pace, coincidence follows coincidence, but the young reader will scarcely notice so fast will they turn the pages. They will also empathise with the central characters - especially Lauren - for it is the teenage protagonists who are very much centre stage. With contemporary dialogue, a hint of romance and non-stop action as the situation escalates to a tense climax that brings a shock at its conclusion, this is a very modern teenage thriller that will delight readers who prefer movement to reflection.
