Some Days is a beautiful book to read about days and feelings. "There are 365 days in a year and no two days are the same." Some Days takes the reader on a journey of children and families through good days, bad days, fun days and many, many more days. Some Days show different children and families taking part in daily life, enjoying the weather, learning to ride a bike, birthdays, moving house and having good and bad days like everyone has. The reader sees through the delightful illustrations the joy in happy days, the sadness in some days and the kind interactions children and families have with each other as they navigate life and its ups and downs.
This book is perfect for exploring emotions and feelings and how our feelings can change depending on what is happening, and sometimes if life goes wrong or we encounter sadness. Some Days deals sensitively with the death of a pet, being ill and moving house.
This book could be used for discussion and to help children understand that everyone has happy days and sad days. This book also encourages empathy and understanding the feelings of others when they may feel sad. The illustrations are so detailed and are perfect to explore and talk about.
All children will see themselves in Some Days as the book is diverse and focusses on the ups and downs of life as a child. This book was shared by a class of 6-7 year olds who enjoyed the story and quickly related to the feelings of the children and the adults too. A great book! 5 STARS!!!!!
