The premise of this book is to take you across the seas, to faraway islands to discover their animals. Accompanying this is the sound effect for each island, which features the animal noises and background noise for each environment... and all of these can be turned off using a switch on the back of the book!
Every page has beautiful illustrations that show the a variety of different animals; they have an accompanying caption that is very descriptive, and tells the reader little bits about the behaviour of each animals.
There's a map of the world for children to try and find the islands on, and the last page details the endangered animals in the book, great for encouraging children to be aware of the importance of conservation.
Due to the sound effects, this book probably isn't well suited to the classroom, however, as a non-fiction book it is detailed enough without being overwhelming for younger readers.
