Fast-paced furry fun in this superhero story full of feline superpowers by author Gwyneth Moor. Tagg and Sugarfoot are following in their parents' paw-prints as the newest crime-fighting Super Cat Agents tasked with battling evil moggie villians like the feared and frightening Gory Gus and Maximus Fang. This is a great exciting adventure packed with humour, danger, drama and thrills. The cast of cats all have a unique range of superpowers to capture the reader's imagination and the illustrations by Becka Moor complement the story style beautifully. There is a good sense of the tension and action heightening as the story progresses , and the final 'good versus evil' battle is dramatic and vividly described, with wild weather and threatening acts from the dastardly duo Gus and Maximus. This is a story with huge appeal for a KS1/lower KS2 audience and was read, with huge enjoyment, by a young six-year-old relative. The list of characters and their superpowers at the end of the story was a big hit and a clever way to allow readers to further engage with the series and create their own Super Agents and Hit Cats. 160 pages / Ages 6+ / Reviewed by Jennifer Caddick, teacher
