A mysterious page turner, The Light Jar is a great read for ages 10 plus. This heart warming story shows the true meaning of friendship, love and hope. Nate and his mother have run away and when mum heads off for food and doesn't return, that leaves him worrying about all sorts of things. Until an old friend visits and he has a confusing treasure hunt with a strange girl! But will mum be back in time for Nate's 12th birthday? I really enjoyed this book as it made me think of how lucky I was to have a caring family and a safe home!
