The Wanderdays: Journey To Fantome Island is a new adventure series from the popular middle grade author Clare Povey. Will you be brave enough to join them in their first underwater adventure as they search for their missing Mum and discover what is really happening on the secret Fantome Island?

Flo and Joseph Wanderday's mum is one of the world's greatest explorers, but she's gone missing on her latest expedition. As the children search for clues about this expedition, they discover that she was trying to find out the truth about Sir Frederick Titan, a much-loved TV presenter who claims to be a protector of the natural world. Along with their friends Funmi and Isaac, they find a map and follow clues, taking them to a secret island to save Mum and reveal Titan's crimes against nature. But who is the stranger that is willing to help them? Will they find their mum? Will they discover Frederick Titan’s plans?

This book has a wonderful old fashioned adventure feel about it, a bit like Enid Blyton's The Famous Five adventures. The characters are very relatable as they work well together and support each other through this fast-paced adventure. The story is a well written, fun, adventure with a great mystery about the underwater world.

The Wanderdays is suitable for the 9+ reader and it would also be a good read for book clubs or intervention groups as there are many discussions points to be found within the pages. I hope the author releases the next book in the series soon as I'm eager to go on another adventure, unravel clues and discover secrets with them.
