Synopsis
There is a world within me. I am not just one thing.
From your sunrise-matching serenity and rainforest-rousing loudness to your glacier-like patience and clifftop-clambering courage, this book is a celebration of all the different facets that make you . . . YOU! With intricate peek-through holes, Anna Wilson's stunning illustrations conjure a cosmos that reflects all the amazing and varied parts of your personality.
Lyrical, emotive language encourages young readers to step back and really appreciate all the complexities of their inner worlds, from sadness to anger, happiness to peace, and gently encourages them to learn how to manage their emotions.
A great read for little ones who enjoyed Happy by Nicola Edwards, Slow Down by Freya Hartas or Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers.

What you see is not all there is about a person and The World Within Me explorers the inner world of a person from a child's perspective. The little girl in this picture book talks about all the different aspects of her personality. She shows children it's OK to like many different things and have many different feelings.
The World Within Me would be a wonderful book to use in a PSHE lesson in school with five-year-olds upwards. It is great for beginning discussions and helping children explore what they like. I love Anna Wilson's illustrations. She has cut-outs on every page which make you want to see the next page. A lovely book to explore.
