There's a Lion in the Library is a funny, sweet reimagination of the 'boy who cried wolf' story. Little Lucy Lupin is cute as a button to look at but has a very naughty side to her. Lucy Lupin loves to play tricks on people. Her latest and quite possibly greatest plan was to say that there's a terrifying lion on the loose in the library. Not once, not twice but three times sweet, dimpled little Lucy Lupin managed to have the library evacuated, fooling everybody and causing great chaos.

Unfortunately for Lucy, the adults put their heads together to work out that when you look that sweet and innocent you can get away with almost anything, so when she really does need their, help no-one seems to be running to the rescue!

The illustrations in this book are bright and colourful with lots of fantastic detail to explore and giggle about. This well-known and loved cautionary tale is almost like a rite of passage for all young readers to hear and know and it's great to see a witty, modernised version available for the bookshelves of our classrooms.
